As bushfires continue to threaten many regions across Australia, we are sad to hear of the losses to those in our industry including some of the Wafex grower family and the wider flower community. We are thankful for the work of the Fire & Emergency Services and others that have tirelessly been working in the affected areas to minimise the loss of property, life and wildlife.
Like everyone we have wondered what we can do to help and we have decided will be dedicating our efforts to helping the Flowers Growers directly impacted by the fires as it is close to our hearts. So we have set up a Flower Grower Relief fund. Wafex will also donate $1.00 for every Wildflower Bouquet sold on Australian Day week 20th – 26th January – customers please place your orders by the 13th of January to help us plan!
As a flower grower and breeder ourselves, we have also contacted plant propagators and will be offering Cash & Plant Donations to the farms which we hope in some way supports their efforts to recovery
The Australian Flower Grower Relief Fund will be distributed to the growers affected by the first and will include:
- Donations from Wafex Staff & Worldwide Clients and Growers
- Wider industry donations
- Wafex Australian Day Bouquet Donation
- Donations of Plants
